The Bielle family farms 16 hectares of certified-organic Merlot in Lalande de Pomerol. The soils are gravel on clay. Marius, born in a small village in the Ariège Pyrenees, dreamed of being a teacher but turned out to be a winemaker. He planted the vines in the 1940s and never treated them with chemicals.  His grandson Damien has held the reins since 2016, and now uses biodynamic methods as well.  The wines are aged in concrete and amphorae and very little sulfur is ever added. The tannins are beautifully incorporated. With lively, lovely red fruits and a whiff of forest, these are extremely drinkable classic Bordeaux wines made by a dynamic natural producer.
