Bordeaux du Paysan is the natural wine passion project of Olivier Techer (of Satellite Wines and Château Gombaude-Guillot) and Nicolas Roux (of Château Coulonge). Nicolas owns and manages the vineyards, located in the south-eastern part of Bordeaux between the rivers Garonne and Dordogne.  They have been in his family since 1804; he has farmed organically since 2015. Soils are clay and limestone. Olivier, who makes the wines, is the 6th generation of the family that has owned Château Gombaude-Guillot in Pomerol since 1860 and also makes the estate’s wines. The white, 100% Sauvignon Blanc, sees only stainless steel, and receives just a bit of sulfur. It has classic Sauv Blanc aromas of lemon, white flowers, with subtle grassy notes, and is a perfect easy-drinking aperitif wine. The red, 100% Merlot, sees no sulfur at all. Also vinified in steel, the strawberry and cherry fruit notes shine brightly.
