Puy de l’Ours is a tiny domaine in the heart of Savigny-les-Beaune, run by husband and wife Jean Orsini and Juliette Puyperoux.  (Puyperoux/Orsini, Puy de l’Ours… get it?) They have taken over the vines that Juliette’s grandparents once farmed (historically all the grapes were sold in bulk).  Jean and Juliette’s debut vintage was 2021, and they have hit it out of the park! We were very fortunate to get some of it for California (the entire estate production for that year was 5,000 bottles). The farming is organic and they are in the third year of the process toward achieving certification.
