Clos Massotte is a small winery in the Roussillon, very close to the Spanish border and the Pyrenées mountains. Pierre-Nicolas Massotte left city life in 2004, fleeing the bustle and stress to return to nature and his winegrowing roots. He took over eight hectares of his family’s forty hectares of old vines and began immediately to convert them to biodynamic farming. He uses minimal interventions in his winemaking, allowing for spontaneous fermentation and using the barest amounts of sulfur. He ages in tank and amphora.
